Turkey seeks new solutions to the Kurdish conflict

The Turkish Government undertakes a new offensive to solve the Kurdish problem - this time not military, and financial. It noted in its commentary on its website, radio "Deutsche Welle". There is an investment program for the Kurdish regions, aimed dadetabuizira Kurdish problem and to help promote the Kurdish identity and culture as well as Kurdish language. Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced that the investment program will have a volume of nearly eight billion euros.

10,000 Brits protested against the war in Iraq

Thousands of people lined the streets of London to protest the war in Iraq, marking thus the fifth anniversary of the war. This AP reported. Organizers of the protests in London say they have been involved around 40 000 10 000 police state. The demonstrators urged the government to withdraw its armed forces from Iraq and Afghanistan.

Chinese media silent about the violence in Tibet

State-controlled media in China reported a tense situation in Tibet and the violence has already been killed a few people there, AFP reported. In the evening news program on Chinese state television was never discussed the situation in Tibet. However, there was an extensive report on the Chinese parliament session, attended by senior Chinese officials, including President Hu Jintao. Websites also reported no protests in Tibet, continuing for several days. Only Anglophone issue of China's Xinhua news agency dedicated Briefs of 132 words on the topic, which says that the Tibetan capital Lhasa have burned shops, cars overturned and that scenes of violence continue.

Victims in Tibet over 300 people

In Lhasa now fourth day continued unrest that began after the dispersal of the rally to commemorate the 49th anniversary of the crushing of Tibetan independence from Chinese authorities. This was announced MIGnyuz. According to official statistics in unrest killed 10 people, but according to unofficial sources reported China suppressed the true number of victims, which may exceed 300.

Three policemen injured in protests in Budapest

Three policemen were injured in the crackdown on demonstrations in the center of the Hungarian capital Budapest. The protests were organized by National Movement for self-defense and other local radical organizations. Yesterday in the late evening several hundred people gathered at one of the central squares of the city, then headed to the Palace of Art. Currently there is held a formal evening dedicated to 160 years of the revolution in 1848.

China blocks access to YouTube

China blocks access to Internet users to the popular U. S. site YouTube. com, after it emerged photos of protests in Tibet, AP reported. This is another move by the communist government in an attempt to control what is seen and heard in public about the protests, said the agency. Protests against Chinese control erupted in the Tibetan capital Lhasa on Friday. Access to YouTube. com is usually available in China, but once the site has increased video clips of demonstrations for foreign reporters in Lhasa, the access was blocked.

Scheffer warned of cyber attacks

NATO Secretary General Jaap de Hoop Scheffer called on NATO to develop a new long-term strategy for countering the threats of the third millennium - cyber attacks, global warming, problems of energy security and nuclear threats. 26 NATO countries should think about increasing the budget in line with the growing responsibilities of the Union. Ecuador short diplomatic relations with Colombia
